Foreword by the FEI President

On behalf of the Fédération Equestre Internationale, it is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the Scandinavium here in Gothenburg, where we come together to witness top-level sport in Jumping and Dressage FEI World Cup™ competitions. As the event unfolds, you will come to see some of the world’s best pairs showcase their talent in the hope of earning precious world cup points, to qualify for the prestigious Finals which will be taking place in Basel for Jumping, Dressage and Vaulting from 2 to 6 April 2025.

Over the coming days, you will experience first-hand, the unique relationship between our equine and human athletes, and see the importance of the trust, respect and communication that exists between them. The courage required for Jumping and the grace displayed in Dressage are just a few qualities reflecting the uniqueness of each FEI discipline, all of which require optimal physical form on the part of our athletes, as well as a great understanding and mutual trust. It is this unique bond that makes it possible to achieve impressive sporting feats and constitutes the core around which the entire FEI community revolves.

The FEI Jumping World Cup™ is a series with tremendous history and prestige created in 1978, and then extended to the disciplines of Dressage in 1985. The concept is simple, a global series where athletes compete at multiple events in order to earn their place at the final alongside the world’s best athletes and a shot at the ultimate indoor trophy in each of the disciplines.

I would like to thank Tomas Torgersen and his team, as well as everyone who contributed to the smooth running of this event. It is the combined efforts of the organisers, volunteers and the media that make the FEI World Cup™ a resounding success recognised around the world. I would also like to express my gratitude to all the sponsors, especially our title partner for the FEI Jumping World Cup™ Western European League, Longines, for their ongoing support. 

To the athletes and their invaluable support teams, I wish the very best of luck! Lastly, to all the fans, I hope you enjoy every minute of the best our sport has to offer.
